Former MCB Tour Championship winner David Frost moved into a share of the lead at the Constellation Senior Players Championship on the US Champions Tour after opening with a six under par 64 at Fox Chapel Golf Club.

The South African, who currently sits in fourth place on the European Senior Tour Order of Merit, joined Americans Joe Durant and Doug Garwood at the top, one shot ahead of the rest of the field in Pittsburgh.

Peter Fowler, the 2012 John Jacobs Trophy winner, and Bernhard Langer were among the eight players just one shot off the pace after they signed for five under par rounds of 65.

Englishman Barry Lane, also a former winner of the Senior Tour Order of Merit, was on four under after a first round 66 while Scotsman Colin Montgomerie finished on one under par.
